🎉 What’s On Your List? The Power of a Prize + a Plan

This month I gave away Pilates—and gained a goldmine of fresh leads. Let’s talk list-building that actually works.

This week, I did something big: I launched a competition to win a whole year of Pilates at my studio. And 3 days in? Over 30 people entered.

We’ve still got 27 days of the entry period to go, and while not everyone entering will become a paying customer, they’ve all raised their hand to say: “I’m interested.” That’s 30+ genuinely local people who want what we offer.

The best part? I’m creating a smart, segmented list of leads that I can nurture with tailored emails, time-sensitive offers, and our regular newsletter.

And come prize draw time, they’ll all walk away with something—which means more chances to turn them into long-term members.

It’s not just about the giveaway—it’s about the groundwork that happens after.

So my big question for you this week is:

Can this work for me?

Absolutely—if you want a warm list of ready-to-nurture leads, here’s what you need:

• A compelling reason for people to join your list (a giveaway, quiz, offer, or challenge)

• A simple landing page and form to capture names, emails, and segmentation info

• A follow-up plan that turns interest into income

🎯 The Money’s In The List (Yes, Yours!)

When you hear the phrase “the money’s in the list,” what comes to mind? A long, outdated email list that no one opens? Or a vibrant community of people who love what you offer and want more of it?

If it’s not the latter yet—don’t worry. This week’s focus is here to change that.

The truth is, most wellness business owners aren’t list-building consistently, and even fewer are doing it strategically. Whether you’re offering classes, coaching, treatments or products, your list is your direct line to revenue.

Your email list is:

• A way to own your audience (unlike social media algorithms)

• A way to connect in a more personal, value-driven format

• A way to convert quietly and consistently

This is why I’m all-in on this competition right now. It’s not just about giving away classes—it’s about filling our funnel with the right people. By the time the month is over, I’ll have:

• A list of warm, segmented leads

• A plan to follow up with time-sensitive offers

• A handful of prize winners who could easily become loyal clients

And the exciting bit? You can do the same—starting this week.

Will it work for you?

Yes—because you need more than just an audience. You need an active, engaged list of people who already want what you offer.

So here’s how to start:

Pick a prize: Choose something exciting but strategic—your intro offer, a service bundle, or a free month.

Create a landing page and form: Make it easy to enter and ask 2-3 smart questions (like age, goals, or interests).

Promote it everywhere: Socials, newsletters, Google profile, local groups, and past leads.

Segment your list: Use form responses to group people by what matters to them.

Send a follow-up plan: Nurture every lead—win or not—with value-based emails and time-sensitive offers.

Track and tweak: Keep an eye on engagement and adapt as you go.

The key to this week’s implementation?

👉 Be intentional. Don’t build a list just to say you have one. Build a list because you know how to use it.
